REFERRALS & MEDICARE
-
No · you can book yourself in · if your GP has written a referral · bring it · it is useful background · but not a requirement
-
No · this is a fully private practice · no item numbers are billed · no rebate applies · some private health funds offer a partial rebate on consultations paid privately · it is worth asking your fund directly · clinical consultation fees are GST-free
-
Because of what working privately allows · a first appointment here is 75 minutes and a review is 50 · this is not what the rebate system funds · it also means you can refer yourself · that clinical scope is shaped by best-practice care rather than by what is claimable · and that letters, reports and between-session support are available
-
No · keep your GP · general consultations are available here · but the clinic is not set up as a continuing general practice · I am not a GP specialist · there are no after-hours services or walk-in care · with your consent I will write to your GP so your care stays coordinated
COST
-
Two lower rates apply to appointments for OCRDs · concession is approximately 75% of the standard fee · community access is approximately half · a limited number of reduced rate appointments are held each week · if cost remains prohibitive please reach out
-
You can book them directly · or request when you book · no documentation or means testing is required
APPOINTMENTS
-
A first appointment is 75 minutes · reviews are 50 minutes as standard · 80-minute extended reviews and 25-minute brief reviews are also available · how many you need is not something I can answer honestly before assessing you · weekly appointments are common at the start · spacing out as things become steady · you will leave the first appointment with a plan that includes a sense of the shape of it
-
Yes · by video · anywhere in Australia · this costs the same as attending in clinic · it is the same work and the same length of appointment · you will need a private space, a reasonably reliable connection and a device with a camera · some things are better done in the same room · I will say so if that applies to you
-
More than 48 hours' notice, no fee · between 24 and 48 hours, 50% of the appointment fee · less than 24 hours or non-attendance, the full fee
For a first appointment the booking fee is applied first · where illness, hardship or an acute episode prevented you attending, get in touch · this is not applied without discretion
SCOPE
-
Yes · I am a medical doctor · medication can be part of the plan where that makes sense · a repeat prescription requested outside an appointment is charged at $40
-
Yes · I see clients of any age · for clients under 16 I request a legal guardian also attend · this can be adjusted on an individual basis in the case of a mature minor
-
That’s OK · I see a number of conditions · book your first appointment under either stream · this can be amended as needed · working out what is going on is exactly what the assessment is for · OCD is frequently missed or mistaken for generalised anxiety, perfectionism etc.
-
No · this is not a crisis service · I am not available between appointments for urgent situations
